Open Call 2018
The Honey Pump Gallery is pleased to announce that we are accepting artwork submissions for our first exhibition in Yerevan, Armenia. Emerging and established Armenian artists, from all over the diaspora, are encouraged to submit new works on paper exploring our theme, “Roadmaps.”
We believe that every Armenian contemplates their identity as a result of globalization, displacement, political and socio-economic circumstances. We would like artists to contemplate question: Where is my roadmap taking me? By choosing this theme, we hope to give artists from all walks of life a platform to express an inclusive conversation about the future of our shared identity.
While we encourage artist to create new work for this exhibition, we will accept work that was made within the last year. Works can not exceed 18×24 inches in size. Selected artists will be notified of their selection by email in April. They will be responsible for shipping their works via trackable mail carrier to our curatorial partners in Armenia or in New York City. All works sent by artists must be shipped flat in durable packaging. A catalogue of the works will be published prior to the July exhibition and will be sold at the exhibition and on our website. The proceeds will go towards facilitating the exhibition.
The deadline for submissions is March 31. The exhibition will be held in July of this year. All submissions should include a one paragraph bio, a CV, an artist statement about the work and finally, 5 images of the artwork – showing the full image and details. When submitting your work please don’t hesitate to include a website or online portfolio.
All submissions must be emailed to honeypumpgallery(at)gmail.com
